BRUNSWICK COUNTY — Victor Canales Hernandez is wanted by the state's Division of Community Corrections for absconding from supervised probation following his conviction for a sexual offense.

Hernandez, 28, was convicted of taking indecent liberties with a child in March 2001. He was arrested and charged by the Brunswick County Sheriff's Department on allegations of having sex with a 14-year-old girl.

According to investigators, he is also a suspect in the 2005 abduction of a 14-year-old girl, which resulted in an Amber Alert.

Hernandez absconded from supervised probation in September 2001 and has been on the run ever since.

He is an Hispanic male, 5 feet 2 inches tall, weighing about 130 pounds with brown hair and brown eyes.
