MOORE COUNTY: James Marvin Johnson is an avid hunter accused of raping and impregnating his 12-year-old stepdaughter.
DNA taken from the girl's fetus confirmed an exact match to Johnson.
Johnson is also accused of sexually molesting the girl's 10-year-old sister.
Johnson is wanted on 10 counts of first degree rape, 5 counts of indecent liberties with a child, and 1 count of statutory rape.
These alleged crimes took place in the summer of 1998 and in the months that followed.
Authorities informed NC WANTED that after these alleged incidents, Johnson formed a local youth organization in Sanford called "Clean Teens." This quasi-civic organization involved young teen girls whom Johnson took camping and photographed while in their tents. It is reported that Johnson later shared photos of the young girls with friends, claiming they were his new girlfriends.
Police arrested Johnson on January 22, 1999, but family members helped him post bond.
On February 12, 1999, police arrested Johnson again. This time, a family member used his local business property as collateral for the $250,000 bond.
But Johnson took off and is considered a dangerous fugitive at large.
According to a report in the Dunn Daily Record, the mother of the victims said, "I told them he would take off but they didn’t believe me. It is time for this to be over. My babies have suffered enough."
Johnson should be easy to identify. He is obese and his body is a walking billboard, displaying tatoos such as 'Widow Maker' and 'Indian Outlaw.'
In addition to his fetish for young adolescent girls, he is known to hang out in latino communities and bars.
Authorities say Johnson has family in Harnett, Lee and Moore counties.
Immediately after he posted bond, Johnson left North Carolina and went to Princeton, West Virginia for two days to stay with his sister. That is the last time he was reportedly seen. Authorities say because of the nature of his crimes, Johnson is a threat to the public and a danger to any child who comes in contact with him.
