Sometimes good things come during tough times. The disappearance of Kelly Morris has galvanized a community to search for the mother of two, even when logic tells them they likely won’t find her alive.

The support from friends and strangers is overwhelming. In covering this story, we’re learning more about those who give up their weekends to look for someone they've never met. It’s refreshing to see the care that exists in our community. It is neighbor helping neighbor, and stranger helping stranger.

The longer the search lasts, the more frustrating it becomes for those involved. But the process has built a friendship between the volunteers and the family that wouldn’t have happened otherwise. It won’t take the pain away, but it may make it more bearable.
