Van der Sloot Arrest Reminds Us That Hindsight Is 20-20

Over the next few weeks, there will be much talk about the arrest of Joran van Der Sloot for the murder of a woman in Peru. He’s the guy everyone pegged in Natalie Holloway case. And apparently that suspicion didn’t wane five years after her disappearance. It turns out the FBI was in the middle of a sting operation after Van der Sloot tried to extort money from the Holloway family if he would tell them where he buried Natalie’s body. In fairness, agents were trying to build a stronger case against him in the Holloway case, and could never foresee the murder of Stephany Flores. This criticism comes with the territory, sure. But, when you hear people say agents should have acted sooner in arresting Van der Sloot, remember that hindsight is always 20-20.
