HALIFAX COUNTY: Shonda Stansbury’s four young children don’t understand how anyone could have “lost” their mother. They search for her, Shonda’s sister Jackie said, under beds and in closets. They wonder if she ran away and had more children; if she has forgotten them; if they did something wrong to deserve being left motherless. They haven’t seen their mother in three years.

Witness reports seem to suggest that she left her home in the early hours of the morning and set out walking down Highway 18 in Shelby, dressed all in white with a black bookbag on her back and a Tweety Bird purse in her hands.

NASH COUNTY: At age 21, Lynch was last seen by his girlfriend. That Christmas Eve, the two went to a friend’s house where, according to investigators, Lynch had quite a bit to drink. After trying to sober up at his girlfriend’s house in Middlesex, Travis left around 1 a.m. Investigators told NC WANTED he was headed home to Wilson, but never arrived.
