WAKE COUNTY: They found her body behind a convenience store on Lake Wheeler Rd. She and her unborn baby were dead. Jenna had been stabbed and died in the early morning hours of June 14, 2007, while Jenna was delivering newspapers for USA Today.
The Raleigh Police Department is in a position to confirm that Jennifer Kathleen Nielson was stabbed. The autopsy will provide additional details when it is completed and released by the N.C. Office of the Chief Medical Examiner.
Also, as is typical with any major investigation, a large number of items have been collected, and the department is in a position to confirm that one of the collected items in this case was a knife that was located in an area near the crime scene. The knife and other items of potential evidence are being examined in an appropriate manner.
