Fayetteville police used the reverse 911 system Friday to alert residents in the northern Ramsey Street area of a series of rapes in that neighborhood.
The system made 2,833 phone calls reaching 1,653 citizens. The remainder of the numbers attempted were out of service, fax numbers or citizens who hung up on the system.
