Chapel Hill Police Officers Make Arrest in Shooting (From Chapel Hill PD)

On Monday, February 25, 2008, at approximately 10:00 p.m., Chapel Hill Police Investigators charged 17-year old David Earl Ellis, Jr. with attempted 1st Degree Murder in the shooting of a 16 year old victim on Johnson Street earlier this evening.

Ellis is currently being held in the Orange County jail under a $200,000 secured bond.

Ellis will have his first appearance in court tomorrow in Hillsborough.
