WAKE COUNTY — WAKE COUNTY: A fight that erupted in Red's Beach Club on Capital Boulevard Sunday night and poured out into the parking lot and street started with an altercation between two teenage girls inside the club.
Outside, however, gang members were flashing gang signs and fighting broke out between them in the parking lot, which continued into the Sprint store on Capital Boulevard, Major Grayson of Raleigh police told NC WANTED.
Whether the incident had a "gang nexus," Grayson said, was unclear. He also said there was no indication that the incident had anything to do with the Triangle Town Center melee involving 200 to 300 teens last week.
Red's Beach Club was hosting a teen event when the fight started. About 350 to 450 teens were inside the club at the time.
Two security guards and an off-duty police officer who were working the event reported hearing six gunshots, but no injuries were reported.
Four people were arrested and charged with crimes including assault on a police officer, disorderly conduct and engaging in an affray.
Grayson did not have information regarding what gang signs were being flashed or what gang affiliations the teens may have had.
