CUMBERLAND COUNTY — CUMBERLAND COUNTY: Around 6 p.m. on August 8, 2008, authorities say Kenneth Alexander Shaw and a 25-year-old co-worker were driving home from a day on the job at Smithfield Packing.

While the two were in the car, Shaw pulled out a handgun and demanded the victim’s money. After the suspect successfully took off with the cash, the victim went to the police station and filed a police report for the robbery charges.

Later that evening, the suspect and victim began exchanging threatening text messages with one another. Authorities said around 2:00am, Kenneth Shaw came to the victim’s residence, kicked in the front door and shot him multiple times him in the groin area.

The suspect took off and the victim called 911.

Armed robbery, first-degree kidnapping, assault with deadly weapon inflicting serious injury, first-degree burglary
