LENOIR COUNTY, N.C. — A Lenoir County Jail kitchen staff member has been arrested and charged with having sex with an inmate and providing the inmate with contraband.

On Monday, Lenoir County Sheriff’s Office investigators received information about a kitchen staff member — who is employed by Summit Staffing (which has a contract with the Lenoir County Sheriff's Office) — that led to an investigation.

During the course of the investigation, it was determined the staff member had engaged in a sexual relationship with an inmate and gave the same inmate contraband.

Annette Daniels, 49, of Greenville, was arrested Wednesday and charged with two counts of a sexual act by a custodian and one count of providing contraband to an inmate.

She was placed in the Lenoir County Jail with a secured bond.

The investigation is ongoing.
