Man shot in Durham neighborhood crashes into 2 parked cars

Durham police are investigating a shooting that left one man injured Wednesday morning.

DURHAM, N.C. — Durham police are investigating a shooting that left one man injured Wednesday morning.

At 11:58 p.m., officers responded to a report of a gunshot wound in the 2600 block of Lawndale Avenue. When officers arrived, they found a man who had been shot. He was taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Police said the man's car was found near the intersection of West Knox Street and Alabama Avenue, where he had crashed into two other parked vehicles. According to police, the man was in the car when he was shot, which caused him to crash.

A gun was seized at the crash scene.

The shooting remains under investigation. WRAL News is working to learn whether police have a suspect in custody.
