Chapel Hill-Carrboro School System To Discuss Replacing Missing Attorney

CHAPEL HILL, N.C. — Chapel Hill-Carrboro school board members will discuss the system's legal future Tuesday.

The board will talk about a temporary replacement for missing attorney John McCormick. The school board terminated his contract.

McCormick disappeared three weeks ago. Last week, he was charged with embezzlement. According to the State Bar Association, more than $1 million is missing from McCormick's client account.

Also, McCormick's wife, Jan McCormick, is seeking alimony and distribution of her husband's assets.
