One person dies in wrong-way collision on Six Forks Road in north Raleigh

Raleigh police said the driver in the vehicle going in the wrong direction died in the crash.

RALEIGH, N.C. — One person died in a wrong-way collision on Monday at Six Forks Road near Newton Road, according to the Raleigh Police Department.

The Raleigh Watch Commander said a vehicle was traveling south in the northbound lane of Six Forks Road before hitting the other vehicle head on.

Raleigh police said the driver in the vehicle going in the wrong direction died in the crash.

A portion of Six Forks Road was closed for several hours on Monday, according to the police. The road has since reopened.
