GOLDSBORO, N.C. — Police were investigating another death in Goldsboro after a man was found with gunshot injuries on Saturday.

Officers responded to a ShotSpotter alert around 9:10 a.m. to the 700 block of Ash St.

Upon arrival, officers found a man suffering with a gunshot wound.

He was taken to UNC Health Wayne, where he was pronounced dead.

The victim has been identified as Kristopher Marquise Faison, 26, of Goldsboro.

This is one of multiple deaths being investigated in Goldsboro this month. Last week, the mayor addressed 7 deaths in 10 days, saying the toll was "too high."

After an investigation, police say Hakeem Khalib Coley was arrested on Friday by police and charged with first-degree murder.

He is in jail without bond.
