Woman charged with DWI after car crashes into state trooper's vehicle head-on

A woman was arrested on drunk driving charges after crashing head-on into a state trooper early Sunday morning in Sampson County.

CLINTON, N.C. — A woman was arrested on drunk driving charges after crashing head-on into a state trooper's vehicle early Sunday morning in Sampson County.

The crash happened around 1 a.m. on U.S. Hwy 701 near Peterson Road, around 6 miles south of Clinton.

The woman was arrested and taken to the county jail, charged with driving under the influence.

An unidentified deputy sheriff stated he believes the trooper is okay, but he is “ …shaken up” a bit.
