“It has been almost fifteen years since our dad was killed. We have all experienced the sovereign hand of God in our lives since this tragic experience. We have been molded into the individuals we are today because of that experience. We have completely forgiven whoever killed our dad even though we don’t know who did it. With that said, what happened is not acceptable, even though we harbor no bitterness or resentment in our hearts.
Our whole family was together the night he was killed, minus him of course. We were all waiting for him to come by the house. We all kept watching and waiting, glancing at the clock, and wondering where he was. We finally decided to go to bed and we were awakened in disbelief and tears upon hearing the news. We were all naturally devastated. Sometimes we still feel like we’re watching and waiting for him to come by the house.
We do ask that people continue to be sensitive to our family and others by heeding the ancient proverb and not fostering or furthering rumors, speculations, gossip and theories that are not substantiated. This is very hurtful to many different people. We have all tried to carry on normal lives since this tragedy happened, and we do not want this television show to make our lives abnormal again. Please help us here. We would like to know more than anyone else why he was killed, and gossip does not help out. We are interested in knowing facts. For all we know, only God, our dad and the other party involved know why this tragedy happened. If anyone else does know anything, and we emphasize the word ‘know’ over hearsay, please work with the appropriate authorities in place to bring a conclusion to this case.
Finally, we pray that God, who can give the breath of life or take it away and who grants salvation to all who believe on His Son, receive all the glory for whatever happens.”
