THAT PROMPTED AN ALERT JUST BEFORE 10 THIS MORNING THEN AN INCORRECT 9-1-1. CALL FOR AN ACTIVE SHOOTER AT THE HIGH SCHOOL THROUGH THESE DOORS. THAT PROMPTED A LOCKDOWN OF THE SCHOOL. NOW WE ARE TOLD BY AMERICAN TOBACCO MANAGEMENT THAT JUST BEFORE 10 2 PEOPLE EXCHANGED SHOTS OVER IN THE AREA OF JULIAN CARR STREET. THAT'S NEAR JACKIE ROBINSON. THE CAMPUS ISSUED AN ALERT AND THE SCHOOL WENT INTO LOCKDOWN. DURHAM POLICE WERE ALREADY HERE ON SCENE WHEN THAT INCORRECT 9-1-1, CALL OF AN ACTIVE SHOOTER AT CRISTO REY HIGH SCHOOL. &gt;&gt; CAME IN. THEN STUDENTS EVACUATED THE SCHOOL AS LAW ENFORCEMENT SEARCHED INSIDE AND DID NOT FIND THE SHOOTER. NOW, IF YOU TAKE A LOOK AT YOUR SCREEN HERE, WE HAVE OBTAINED SURVEILLANCE PHOTOS OF PEOPLE WHO MAY HAVE BEEN INVOLVED IN THE SHOOTING NEAR HERE TODAY. YOU CAN SEE 2 DIFFERENT MALES, ONE WITH A BACKPACK. THIS IS THE SECOND INCIDENT LIKE THIS. &gt;&gt; IN A WEEK LAST THURSDAY AROUND 06:00PM. A MAN WAS SHOT IN THE 300 BLOCK OF WEST PETTIGREW STREET AND THEN RAN ON FOOT OVER TO THE BUS STOP WHERE HE WAS TAKEN TO THE HOSPITAL BY POLICE IN A VAT CASE FROM LAST WEEK. I'm meteorologist, Amy Weu in the WRL severe weather center, only a 20% chance of rain today. And that's gonna be mainly in our southern counties this afternoon and this evening. So most will stay dry today. It's dry Thursday, dry Friday. But then over the weekend rain chances go up, it's about a 60% chance Saturday, a 70% chance Sunday it won't rain the entire day, both of those days. But I do think we at least have a good chance for some scattered showers and storms. Both of those days. We'll get some high resolution model data starting tomorrow. And hopefully we'll have a better idea of the timeline for today. Again, the best chance would be in the afternoon and evening in our southern counties. So south of the triangle and it's only a 20% chance for rain. So again, most will stay dry today, it will be dry and feeling like summertime tomorrow and Friday, high temperatures getting close to 90 both days. And then over the week, we do have the potential for rain on Saturday, it looks like the morning could stay dry, which would be great news for the Coen Race for the Cure. We're a proud sponsor of that event, so we're hoping that it stays dry for sure. But then as we get to the afternoon and evening, a little unsettled, we'll have some scattered showers, maybe a few thunderstorms on Sunday morning, a few showers in the morning, but a better chance for some of those scattered showers and storms heading into the second half of the day and some of that rain will linger into Monday as well. Monday appears fairly unsettled with scattered showers and a few thunderstorms and we could even have a few storms on Tuesday as well around town. Today, we do not expect any rain for most locations. It's only a 20% chance 84 for the high in Raleigh and Durham, 84 for the high in Fayetteville as well. So it's a warm day out there for outdoor practices this evening. It looks pretty good. Just that slim chance for rain, especially down to the south will be at 82 by 5 p.m. 79 at 6 p.m. and then down into the low to mid seventies by 8 p.m. So overall it looks pretty good, could have a little bit of patchy fog overnight tonight. And then tomorrow it's warm 88 with mostly sunny skies, 89 on Friday and then we're dodging some rain and storms over the weekend and that trend continues into Monday and Tuesday of next week.
